Welcome to Cardiff // Insiders // #StudentAccessibility

Hello there, it’s been a while!

First and foremost, I’d like to try and tantalize the masses by advertising the next three videos after this one: Firstly, Cardiff’s unbeatable feel good factor when the rugby comes to town. Secondly, what you can get up to in the world of student media and thirdly, the small matter of Varsity. I’m not going to go any further but I thought it worth a mention.

Anyhow, I’m digressing. What about today you holler. Well, there’s something rather tasty at your disposal; a short video designed to showcase a little of what Cardiff has to offer as a city for students. As simple as you like. Obviously I couldn’t even begin to scratch the surface when it comes to documenting anything and everything but I thought a snippet of city life would be perfect for students contemplating whether or not they’re ready to move to a capital!

As you’ll hopefully pick up, the ‘vibe’ of your surroundings as a student in Cardiff, offers the optimum blend of an urban and natural environment. Where the city center meets Bute park and a student centered club can sit adjacent to a slightly more sophisticated location, there is an opportunity at all times to delve into a different crowd and expand your potential for new (cheap) escapades.

It cost me nothing to get to any of these places, and it was all easily achievable to cover the different locations within 48 hours! I’m planning on a follow up video with a few (slightly more adventurous) pursuits but for now, kick off those tennis shoes, relax and take a gander at where and what you could find in the capital of Wales!

List of areas visited:

Roath Park

Bute Park

The Taf (Students Union / Pub Quiz Night)

Deli Rouge (Open Mic Night – every Wednesday)

The Castle Emporium

Cardiff Market

Cafe 37
