Xpress radio

With clinic week, sleep and the first student loan instalment all but distant memories, inspiration has failed to strike this month, so I have had to resort to shamelessly plugging the radio show that I am now co-presenting. After meeting with my co-host Samantha to discuss ideas, I made my radio debut last Tuesday on the Morning show. I was a bit nervous to begin with, and was scared of running out of things to say, but things seemed to go pretty well.

Xpress radio is run from the student media centre on the third floor of the student’s union and broadcasts a range of shows. As well as entertainment shows like ours, there are lots of other shows such as speech and alternative genres of music that you can get involved in. It took a little while to learn how to work the controls, but I learnt everything I needed to pretty quickly and I really enjoyed it once I got started. You’ll get the chance to be part of some really interesting things if you get involved with Xpress, like interviewing bands and trying for student radio awards once you’ve been on air a while. It is definitely something I’d recommend that you join, as it’s a lot of fun and a great way to meet people.

If you’d like to get involved in Xpress radio, presenting, producing, or in another role then get in touch via the Facebook page; Also, don’t forget to listen in to our show every Tuesday 10-12 for some great music games, and answers to your Fresher’s problems! :)
